Steam through the rolling Mendip countryside on a day out at the East Somerset Railway. 2008 marks our 150th anniversary so why not take a ride on one of our steam trains on the five mile round trip and travel back in time to the halcyon days of steam?

During the Thomas event last week we had an unusual visitor – a ‘not very good’ homing pigeon!! Having stayed on the footpath to the shed all week, Colin decided to try and catch it for the owner to collect and return to Dursley, Gloucestershire. Here can be seen Colins contraption in action to catch the pigeon. Unfortunately no matter how long he waited there, it would not enter the box, but having left it, there were several reports from other members that the bird had been enjoying a quick snack in the box as they passed!
